Our favorite falls books
We at Small Hands Big Dreams love reading books and encourage literacy at every age. Here are a few of our favorite fall stories:
Mouse’s First Fall by Lauren Thompson and Bucket Erdogan
In this beautifully illustrated story, Mouse experiences the wonders and colors of the fall for the first time. This board book is perfect for infants and toddlers to read together with mom and dad.
Go Away Big Green Monster by Ed Emberley
Read the book together for a first reading. Then ask your child to try to remember what comes next in the story. Eventually, after a few more readings, your child will want to “read” the book to you all by themselves!
Johnny Appleseed by Steven Kellogg
This folklore tale follows the life and adventures of Johnny Chapman as he travels throughout the country earning his nickname, Johnny Appleseed. This book would be most appropriate for grades 1 and up.
